Visiting

"We're only going to be there for a little while, right ma?" I asked
"Thats right," she said.
As I rang the doorbell I couldn't help but feel happy and bored, she is my moms friend but, she is one heck of a talker. I heard footsteps. slow, tiny footsteps.
"Hi guys, thanks for coming," she said " Bless your hearts."
"Pessie you know I'm always here for you." said my mom.
"I know, I know, but it gets so lonely here sometimes."
"May we come in?" my mother asked.
"OH-YES!!" Pessie said, astounded that she had forgotten to bring us in the house.
I stepped inside the house-everything was white. The carpet, the chairs, and the couch were as white as snow. I saw the couch, it looked like it was fit for a king, stiff and beautiful. Every bit as tempting to sit on like a kid who awaits his ice cream. Next was the glass. Glass figures with such elegance. One of them I favored, a swan, a crystallized swan.It showed grace in its gentle look of the way it was crafted. It felt so smooth and, I saw my reflection of my fingers as I looked through....."Get away from that!"
I jumped with the surprise, and turned... it was Pessie.
"Please","that's an antique my husband bought for me."
"Sorry." I said
She told us to sit down and I did. I smelled peppermint, and that smell you smell when you go to a Granny's house. That's because Pessie is a Senior and still not in a retirement home.
All of a sudden I heard a gigantic sound that was about to blast my ears off.
"Oh sorry, my hearing aid again." she said
It's okay, I thought, I love hearing something that might make me deaf as well.
After a while my mom told me something that was the best news I had heard all day.
"Time to go." she said "Thank you so much, it was fun wasn't it Shaindle?"
"Yeah, Thanks allot Pessie,I had fun, see you next time."
We closed the door and got into the car.... finally some peace and quite.

Spring

The golden doorknob opening with my slightest turn of a hand- I'm outside. Green all around me, I only smelling the only the deepest sent of nectar. With every blow that the tranquil clouds give to me, I feel the warm, windy breeze as it makes me shout with glee! Falling upon the soft, moist grass I see colorful patches of flowers, I feel at ease. As if nothing can hurt me and pure peace is at hand. Looking up I can see blue and brown birds, for it is that time of season. Each one going to its nest to feed its young. It pleases me with their sweet tune, as if saying,"Thanks for a season with peace and happiness." I feel like mother nature and I are together. As I turn to the yellow horizon I can finally smell the scent of apple as it fills the air, and I see a pie sizzling in the brisk, hot sun....It is waiting for me. While I'm running, I can remember that this is the true definition of SPRING!

Nature to be restored!

All my life I always wanted to save the environment. It has been my life long dream. What better way to start helping the environment then to save the rain forests. Think about how much animals, oxygen, and beautiful habitats you can save. Every single year thousands of trees are being cut down. It's disturbing how many trees are gone. We need to act!

One of the reasons it's wrong to cut so many trees down is because of the animals. Animals live in the rain forest, its their home. Just think how many incredible, phenomenon creatures are living in the rain forests soon to be endangered or possibly extinct. At a pole, about 50% of the animal population are in the rain forests, soon to be extinct.

Oxygen is also a major problem. As we all know no human being can survive without the use of air. Trees make air in their bark and without trees their will only be a limited amount of oxygen. They also breath in the carbon dioxide, the toxin that is bad for the body and the world.

Have you ever been to a forest, seeing those beautiful luscious trees and animals? Well a rain forest is ten times better! The rain forests are wet and dry. perfect for touring and giving those exotic animals a closer look. Though when the rain forests leave there won't be anything to see.

So help the rain forests it will give you a step ahead to helping the environment.Think about how much animals, oxygen, and beautiful habitats you can save. For example exotic animals, fresh air for all, and luscious green grassy forests and radiant rivers in th rain forests. ACT NOW TO SAVING THE RAIN FORESTS!!

Recess!!! Please!!!

Are you impatient and is disturbing class? Always want to stretch the muscles and dread to focus in class? It probably is because you don't get enough exercise as you should. Mind focus also plays a part, sometimes our minds wander off and then we can't focus in class. WHAT WE NEED IS RECESS!

Exercise plays an important part in our childhood/teenage life.Without it you aren't quite so healthy.Being cooped up in a classroom Isn't the best for getting your body working. We need a chance to stretch our muscles.

Sometimes our minds float off and we can't focus in class. Recess will make sure your brain will wake up! It will also help the teachers too! The students will wake up and get the excitement flowing in learning instead of the usual boredom and wanting to sleep in class.

If you are impatient, disturbing class, wants to stretch the muscles, and is dreading to focus; then recess is the answer. Without recess you might not get as much exercise as you should. Trying to focus the mind is also tough if you try and focus without getting your brain flowing.

The Giver

Dear Council of Elders,

Have you thought of my job assignment roughly through. The last time you gave the job of Receiver of Memory it wasn't a very successful choice. Think about the chances you're taking I even might decide the same thing as the last one did. Anyways I don't do so well away from people and might get lonely. You should rethink about my job and even try for a new job to give me. I apologize for any inconvenience.
Thanks Jonas.

Letter for the week

Dear Lois,
The beginning of the book is sensational! Your book isn’t like regular books where the beginning starts off to be a dull and boring. You actually capture your readers’ minds to imagine the different sort of world they live in. My personal feeling about the first five chapters is the comparing and contrasting about the two different worlds. How they have differences with feelings, jobs, and everything else. This book is great when you see the insides of the book that the characters try and make this as perfect as it can be. I have no rejection how the book should have been done differently....yet.
